As per the restrictions, indoor sport and exercise is limited to elite athletes and individual activity. This clearly presents a number of challenges and we are unable to re-open the climbing wall until the current restrictions are relaxed.
The team have already consulted the relevant guidance and an operational plan is in place for climbing at Foyle Arena, once permitted. While we are keen to reopen the facility, we must act within the legislation for now. We fully understand that this must be frustrating for people who are hoping to get back to the sport they love and we appreciate everybody’s patience.

Swimming Pools

We have restricted the amount of swimmers per session based on current guidelines and social distancing restrictions. Pre-booking ensures that we can control the amount of swimmers and ensure they stay within our maximum capacity. We have increased the fresh airflow to our pool halls and changing rooms. One way systems are in place throughout the buildings and we have timetables in place to minimise queuing. After each pool session our staff will sanitise all touch points and changing rooms before the next pool session.

Medium Speed Swimmers – able to swim 100m over 1min 40sec

We require swimmers to have their swimwear on when they arrive at the leisure centre, you will be required to place store your items in a bag during your swim session. Changing rooms will be available to change after your swim.
