Registration
Foyle Arena’s indoor climbing wall caters for beginners to experienced climbing, with a range of routes to suit all!

A visit to the climbing wall can be a great experience for Birthday Parties, Corporate Days Out, Youth Groups and groups of experienced climbers.

Ireland’s highest dedicated indoor climbing wall with 900 sqm of climbing on modern multifaceted surfaces, has 39 independent lines that incorporate top roping, lead and competition climbing an IFSC speed climbing wall and a dedicated bouldering wall. The maximum vertical height of the wall is 15 m but route lengths are longer on the steep competition wall. All routes are fully equipped with fixed extenders and lower-off chains. Bouldering is 4-4.5 m high, is fully fitted with crash mats and incorporates a wide variety of problems and angles including a 45-degree board. Campus and fingerboards are also available.

We rotate our routes on the wall regularly providing greater variety and for our customers.

Registration
All Climbers must complete a registration form at reception to confirm they are competent enough to use the wall unsupervised. Foyle Arena has two types of registration. The first is a Fully registered member, which is for competent climbers only and allows them to take part in roped climbing and Bouldering. We also have a Bouldering only registration which allows climbers to use the bouldering wall only. Please ask reception for the appropriate registration form when you arrive. A fully registered member can supervise a maximum of two people on the wall. Bouldering only members are not allowed to supervise guests. Once approved, registered climbers can access the wall unsupervised for the activity they registered for. Beginners who cannot complete the registration process must attend one of our courses which will teach you the skills required to become an accredited user.

NICAS
We are Northern Ireland’s only Primary NICAS Centre offering all 5 levels and our courses follow the NICAS system. See http://www.nicas.co.uk for further information. To book a beginner course please contact reception.”

Group Bookings
The climbing wall is available for group bookings and Foyle Arena can provide instruction for your group, please contact reception for availability and prices. External organisations who are providing their own instruction are welcome to bring their own group to the wall, however, a booking form is essential before any group activity can commence. Please note that due to events and competition, advance notice is essential before groups arrive at the wall. We also require a copy of the instructors’ qualifications (CWA, CWLA, SPA, MIA etc ), their current first aid certificate and proof of insurance. Foyle Arena recommends a maximum instructor ratio of 1:9 for climbing, please contact management before you arrive if you want to increase this for your session.
